Finding Kindness

14 Mar

There was a little girl named Amira who lived in a small village in a far-off land. She lived happily with her parents and her younger brother until one day, war broke out and everything changed.

Amira’s village was attacked, and her family had to flee for their lives. They left everything behind and set off on a long journey through dangerous and unfamiliar terrain. Amira didn’t understand what was happening, but she could tell from the fear in her parents’ eyes that something was very wrong.

As they travelled, Amira saw things that no child should have to see. She saw people injured and dying, homes destroyed, and families torn apart. Her parents tried to shield her from the worst of it, but she couldn’t help but feel scared and confused.

Finally, after weeks of walking and hiding, Amira’s family reached a border where they hoped to find safety. But instead of being welcomed, they were met with suspicion and hostility. The officials at the border didn’t believe that they were refugees, and they were turned away.

Amira didn’t understand why they couldn’t stay. All she knew was that her family was tired, hungry, and scared. They had nowhere else to go, and no one to turn to.

Days turned into weeks, and Amira’s family continued to travel, hoping to find a place where they could be safe. But everywhere they went, they were met with closed doors and cold hearts. Amira began to lose hope that they would ever find a home again.

Finally, after many long months, Amira’s family reached a country that was willing to give them asylum. They were taken in by a kind family who gave them a place to stay, food to eat, and a chance to start over.

Amira was overjoyed to finally have a place to call home, but she knew that there were still so many other children like her who were still searching for safety. She hoped that someday, they too would find the help and kindness that her family had been given. JH.

Many refugees have incredibly inspiring stories of perseverance and resilience, despite facing unimaginable challenges and obstacles. One such story that comes to mind is that of Emmanuel Jal, a South Sudanese musician and former child soldier, who has now become a global music star and peace activist.

Emmanuel was born during Sudan’s civil war and was forced to flee from his home at the age of seven. He was eventually taken to a military training camp and coerced into becoming a child soldier. However, he managed to escape and was taken in by a Christian aid worker who helped him navigate his way to Kenya. Despite facing numerous challenges, including poverty and homelessness, Emmanuel has managed to overcome adversity and channel his experiences into his music.

Today, Emmanuel is known for using his music and public speaking to advocate for peace and reconciliation in war-torn regions of Africa. His incredible resilience and determination to make a positive impact on the world are truly commendable, and serve as a beacon of hope for other refugees and survivors of conflict.
Well done Julie… you have a compassion that is rare.

A lovely story. Braverman and Sunak are destroying kids and families with this Rawanda and refugee ban! They need to be out on a boat and try.

That pair of bigots should be shipped out. Considering their ancestors are ‘non British ” you would think they had some understanding 🤔

Kindness is a fundamental human characteristic that has the power to transform the world. From something as simple as holding a door open for a stranger to volunteering in a local community, these small acts of kindness can have a profound effect on the world around us.

By being kind to others, we create a ripple effect. We inspire those around us to do the same, which can turn into a chain reaction of kindness. Kindness spreads like wildfire, and when we instill this quality in everyone around us, it can create a profound impact on our communities and even the world.

The effects of kindness can be felt on both the individual and global level. On an individual level, kindness can boost our overall sense of well-being, increase our happiness, and reduce feelings of stress and anxiety. It can also improve our relationships with others, leading to a greater sense of connectedness and belonging.

On a global level, kindness can lead to a more peaceful and harmonious world. When we treat each other with kindness, we foster greater empathy and understanding, which can help to bridge cultural divides and bring people together.

Although acts of kindness may seem small, they have the power to make a significant impact on the world. When we choose to act kindly towards others, we not only improve their lives but also our own. As the saying goes, “The world could use more kindness,” and it is a truth that we should all strive to live by.

There are a variety of reasons why some people might complain about refugees. Here are some possible explanations: This is sometimes the reason for not helping.

    1. Fear of the unknown: When refugees come to a new country, they bring with them different cultures, languages, and customs that might be unfamiliar to the host community. This can create a sense of unease and anxiety among some people, who might worry that refugees are a threat to their way of life.

    2. Economic concerns: Some people might worry that the arrival of refugees will put strain on local resources, such as housing, healthcare, and education. They might also worry that refugees will compete with them for jobs, leading to unemployment and lower wages.

    3. Xenophobia: Unfortunately, some people simply don’t like foreigners or people who look different than them. This can lead to prejudice and discrimination against refugees, even if they pose no actual threat.

    4. Political reasons: Some politicians might use the issue of refugees as a way to score political points or push a particular agenda. They might exaggerate the perceived risks associated with refugees in order to rally support or distract from other issues.

It’s important to note that not everyone who expresses concern about refugees is motivated by malicious intentions. In many cases, people are genuinely worried about the impact of refugee arrivals on their communities. However, it’s also important to challenge xenophobia and prejudice whenever we encounter it, and to work towards a more welcoming and inclusive society.
